Tanzbrunnen, Cologne, Germany
19th & 20th July 2008
Amphi Festival
The fever rises. On 19th & 20th July 2008, the Amphi Festival starts into its fourth round and for another time it invites to the dark dance under the sign of the cologne cathedral, when the pulsating Rhine metropolis welcomes their truly extraordinary guests, whose peaceful and friendly attitude doesn’t fit to their dark look at first sight. After 9.000 fans celebrated in the enthusiastic circle of the Goth family last year, the Amphi Festival puts one on top in 2008. Venue for this year’s Amphi Festival will again be the Tanzbrunnen at the lakeside promenades of the Rhine, which gives utterance to the saying (Cologne, you’re an emotion) like no other.

The very successful formation, founded in Thuringia in 1998 released their debut album ‘Small Chamber Works’ in 2001 on their own label 1st Decade Records, but sooner than expected, the records was sold-out completely. Among fans, this album is considered as a rarity. To thank the NORTHERN LITE fans for the continuing success, the band decided to re-release ‘Small Chamber Works’ in a digitally revised form. The 10 purely electronic tracks clearly show the roots of NORTHERN LITE and could be the reason for many other electro fans to discover the band for themselves. The release of ‘Small Chamber Works’ is set for 27th June 2008- Details

It seems that Pontus Stålberg has had a little too much time on his hands in the past few months. With proactive support from his old chum Lars Karlsson, he formed the project Turnbull A.C’s – a truly massive affair, indeed! The debut album’s title can be seen as programmatic: the tracks are angry as hell and perfect for an alcohol-induced pogo party as well… all depending on how you wish to read the word “pissed.” The evil brother of Spetsnaz is definitely Old School EBM – yet a tad more straightforward and aggressive.Pontus and Lars may be able to drink without having fun (“We Can Drink Without Having Fun”), but “Let’s Get Pissed” delivers the fun factor in loads, its smashing tracks being an altogether irresistible invitation to uninhibited body movement. Pontus must have pent-up a whole lot of aggression, though, because these tunes are definitely harder than usual… and he is not exactly renowned for being the introverted type. - Details
