On Monday 29th of October DEATHSTARS entered Metrosonic Recording Studios in NYC to begin the recording of their new album to be released in spring 2008. This album will start another chapter in their history of vanity, darkness, blood and sleaze. The recording sessions will continue throughout November and December and the mix is set for January so get prepared for a 2008 filled with exploding Deathglam! The previously announced And One "Bodypop 1 1/2" MCD (expected for December) will not be released, in fact the release has been cancelled. Instead Out Of Line will release the MCD as an extended full length tribute album in February 2008. Expect 12 tracks on this release including cover of the following classics: Depeche Mode ("Never Let Me Down Again"), Front 242 ("Operating Tracks"), D.A.F ("Der Mussolini"), Nitzer Ebb ("I Give to You"), The Cure ("Kyoto Song") and so on. Jumping the ship are Chris Lukhaup, who had to leave the band due to personal reasons, and Moritz Neuner, who is taking another turn in his working career. The double A -side single "Saw Something" / "Deeper & Deeper" will be the next single taken from Dave Gahan's 2nd solo album "Hourglass". Out on January 14th the single will be the follow-up to "Kingdom" which was released in late Summer. Written, performed and produced by Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan, Christian Eigner and Andrew Phillpott (both also members of the Depeche Mode touring band), "Saw Something" is a fan favourite due to its very Depeche Mode like melody and sound while "Deeper & Deeper" is a more raw synth-led track. In more Dave Gahan news, while a tour will most probably not take place, Gahan & The Jupiters as he baptized his band performed a 7-track set at the Spinner Studio, New York on November 14th 2007 including the tracks "A little lie", Miracles", "Saw something", "Endless", "Use you", "Deeper & Deeper" and "Kingdom".Source: http://www.side-line.com/
