For almost three decades, Monster Magnet belong to the most influential institutions of the Stoner Rock scene and stand for visionary Retro Rock made in New Jersey. Everything started with an EP at the beginning of the 90s, and typically, for a debut album, it was named MONSTER MAGNET. There, the interaction of Metal and Space Rock comes to light for the first time. One year later, ‘Spine Of God’ was released. Because of a tonsillitis of Wyndorf, the Europe tour planned for summer 2019 had to be postponed. Back to health, the band goes on tour in spring 2020 to celebrate the album ‘Powertrip’ and the reunion with the fans.

In January, the new album ‘Sanctuary’ of GENGAHR will be released. It’s more ambitious and more in love with the sound than the previous albums ‘A Dream Outside’ and ‘Where Wildness Grows’ of the quartet from the North of London. Largely, this is the result of hiring Jack Steadman of BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB as producer. They are friends since teenage times. Steadman turned out to be a stroke of luck. He realized the strengths of GENGAHR and managed to improve the complex sound of the convinced DIY musicians by creating that decisive, symphonic spark and so let the sound shine more than ever before. The epic sound space of the first two albums is still there, but is now more concentrated and sharper outlined.

Already since 1990, the British band is on the road and provides sophisticated rock music that has developed from early Doom Metal to atmospheric Progressive Rock. The band of masterminds Danny and Vincent Cavanagh released eleven albums in thirty years. Latest record is the much-appreciated ‘The Optimist’. After such a long history, ANATHEMA earned a high reputation under their fans, and together with the musically related PORCUPINE TREE, today they belong to the outstanding representatives of British Progressive Rock.
