Scandinavia and electro are guarantors for quality for about two decades now. Countless releases from Apoptygma Berzerk, Covenant, Waves Under Water, Cat Rapes Dog, Beati Mortui to Spetsnaz and Elegant Machinery. With SUBSTRAAT, driving old-school EBM from Norway with a charismatic voice makes its debut, the voice at times reminding of COVENANT’s Eskil. Songs like ‘Catch Me’ and ‘Adrenaline’ equally claw to the dance floors and your ears with their melodies and straight grooves. Torben Schmidt, label head of Infacted Recordings, was that much excited, he honoured the band with a contribution to the ‘Nacht der Maschinen Vol.3’. There sure is a lot more to come of the trio Terje, Petter and Jarle. The double album besides 11 analogue classics includes a remix disc with renditions of Kant Kino, NorthBorne and others.Source: Newsletter

Deine Lakaien, Vic Anselmo
DEINE LAKAIEN have been blessing us with their compositions between electronic and classic avant-garde beyond all borders for over 25 years now. It all started out with a newspaper ad from Ernst Horn in a city magazine that pretty much sounded like this: “Looking for open-minded singer”. Alexander Veljanov reacted on the ad and met Ernst. During this encounter they found out that they shared a common spirit and musical preferences. Their shimmering discography, created in all those years bred evergreens such as ‘Mindmachine’’ and ‘Dark Star’ on albums of matchless creativity and artistic merit. With their newest album ‘Indicator’ the duo’s continued on their path of sophisticated electronics and classical elements this time with a more direct approach to the lyrical content.

Letzte Instanz
On their last album, German rock outfit LETZTE INSTANZ was pleading all guilty (‘Schuldig’). But this was just the first part of a trilogy that now finds its continuation with the newest body of work' called 'Heilig'(Holy). Back with the first part, a black angel looked at us from the cover. Now it's Holly himself in front of a blinding light, wearing a sinister face and an evil grin.

Montreal
Even though this German band doesn’t exist for such a long time, the victory march they’ve been doing in that rather short amount of time is remarkable to say the least. Already the first album ‘Alles auf Svhwarz’, released in 2005 became a major success and was followed up by touring with the likes of SONDASCHULE, LOIKAEMIE, BOMBSHELL ROCKS and EL*KE.
