EoD Live Edition: S.P.O.C.K, Psyche
The live edition of the renowned Empire of Darkness party series has brought us quite some extraordinary performance already like e.g. the spectacular live showcase of FAITH & THE MUSE in August just to name one very memorable. On 17th December, the Matrix club in Bochum will lend the halls to two quite legendary formations in their stylistic category. First of all that would be the Swedish crew of spaceship S.P.O.C.K who just in this particular moment think of how they can deliver their Spock’n’Roll best. But I think we all know how this is going to turn out. The second one in league is Darrin Huss’ PSYCHE and there it’s going to get much more earnest and melancholic, but no less fun that is pretty safe to say. So join the party and before dancing the night away enjoy two great live acts.

Sportfreunde Stiller
SPORTFREUNDE STILLER started off small and modest as STILLER back in 1996 but in due time would become the rocking masters of hearts. Their way of putting stories, told by everyday life into catchy melodies of rock origin is to the present day very unique and unrivalled, also exposing them to a wide audience being able to deeply connect to their tunes just because they do it the way they always do it. 2009 held one big surprise for the band and their fans with the recording of an “MTV Unplugged” concert which makes them the sixth German band to ever record one.

D-A-D, Pussy Sisster
The Danish rock band started their career back in the 1980s under the moniker DISNEY AFTER DARK. When Disney filed a lawsuit against them, they shortened it to D-A-D. The breakthrough of the Copenhagen band occurred upon releasing the third album ‘’No Fuel Left For The Pilgrims’ in 1989 on an international level, except the US. It has always been this band’s aim to stray from the gloomy, the pessimistic things that keep you from actually seeing the upsides life has to offer. They want to bring joy into the stadiums they fill with their music while adding always an ironic hint to their lyrics.

KASHMIR, who owe their name to the eponymous LED ZEPPELIN song, are like a veil of silk descending upon you wide and soft, a veil whose fabric is steeped in melancholy melodies going to leak into your skin. At the same time there are edges; rockier edges, entwined rhythms and chord vibrations that shake the calm fundament time and again. The band whose roots extend way back to 1991 has grown to become very popular in their native with efforts such as ‘The Good Life’ from 1999’ or ‘Zitilites’ from 2003, being a platinum certified record.

Lordi, The Dogma, Kaledon
Here they are again! Creeping out of their holes to bring the world terror and fright….maybe also a little fun since we’re talking about LORDI after all; the band that finally had their well-deserved breakthrough in 2006 after taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest and took the thing home for their native. In October 2008, the band released their album ‘Deadache’ to mostly positive reviews. But not only was it received very well it was followed up by an acclaimed spectacle of acting, music and horror-esque tinges that others might also call a live performance – and performance hits the nail on the head here. Now with ‘Babez For Breakfast’ there’s been another album of new material which of course has to be supported by a tour that a certain to hold many new exciting moments for the audience. Be there when the monsters invade Essigfabrik in Cologne.
