Eisbrecher - Open Air 2019 - Special Guest: Faelder

Unmistakably forged in the home port of the Bavarian capital Munich, EISBRECHER are a flagship of the so-called Neue Deutsche Härte. For the past 15 years, the band has been navigating the waters of a genre of music that seems like a musical sculpture for German catchphrases and, at the same time, deliberately breaks their tight borders bit by bit. With their strikingly intelligent German texts and their characteristic rhythm, EISBRECHER have long established themselves across genre and national borders.

Within just a few months, the band received double gold for their last two albums, ‘Die Hölle muss warten’ and ‘Schock’. Two times they succeeded in the vice-title victory in the German charts. In the spring of 2016 they started a nearly completely sold out tour, which led the musicians, among others, to Russia and Finland. Their current studio album, ‘Schock’, has been on the German charts for over 33 weeks. And EISBRECHER would not be EISBRECHER if they, in addition to all the illustrious festivals such as the Greenfield, Rockavaria, Rock In Vienna - where they played the stage in front of 50,000 visitors in front of Rammstein -, the Summer Breeze or Mera Luna, would not also provide for the individual moments in the concert history.

So the band already played concerts on the summit of Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze, or the MS RheinEnergie in Cologne. In between all the spectacular live show visuals, all the stoic heaviness, the machine-like riffs and the enigmatic wordplay, their very own personality shines. The quick-witted frontman Alex Wesselsky not only proves wordplay within EISBRECHER, but also in the TV landscape, where adds his personal charm to formats such as ‘Der Checker’ (DMAX), ‘Auto gebraucht’ (Kabel1), ‘Auftrag Auto’ (Sport1), ‘Fort Boyard’ or ‘Red Bull Crashed Ice’ (Kabel1). Born in Augsburg, he is currently shooting a new format for DMAX. As such, EISBRECHER continues to broaden its reach without departing from its course of growing success, expanding concert halls and intimate interaction with its audience.
