It has taken seven years for the festival to return to the wonderful Bergtheater in Thale! Corona and extensive renovations over several years made it impossible to hold Unter dem Himmel at this extraordinary venue. During this time, the open-air stage was comprehensively modernised and expanded. The seating capacity has been increased to approximately 1,900 seats.
But now the time has come! The Bergtheater shines in new splendour, and the festival crew is thrilled to be part of the reopening year. Despite the major renovation and expansion, visitors can still enjoy the view of the Harz foreland. The size of the stage has not changed, but the entire sound and lighting technology has been updated to the latest standards, and the stage has been equipped with an LED wall.
In the year of the reopening, the Unter dem Himmel Festival is back with a bang: For the first time, it will take place over two days! On the 1st day (August 1, 2025), you can expect VNV NATION & DIARY OF DREAMS, each with the Leipzig Philharmonic. The concept was successfully implemented on a tour in 2024, and now the impressive panorama of the Harz Mountains will serve as the backdrop on a summer evening. For the 2nd day (August 2, 2025), the organisers have put together a top-notch line-up: VNV NATION, DIARY OF DREAMS, NORTHERN LITE, BRAGOLIN, and AUGER will make the open-air stage on the Hexentanzplatz high above the Bodetal valley resonate with music.
There are day tickets for each day, as well as a weekend ticket for both days of the festival.
For people with disabilities, please note the following: For safety reasons, it is not permitted to drive up to the entrance of the Harzer Bergtheater. You can park at the Hexentanzplatz parking lot. The path from the parking lot to the Harzer Bergtheater is barrier-free, but the slope is greater than 6 degrees.
