The second weekend in August is reserved for M’era Luna Festival. If you think that it’s only about music, then you’re mistaken. It’s a gathering of old and new friends and music lovers coming from afar, a peaceful weekend outdoors at the campsite during the day and a raging party at night. It’s a cultural event offering us a medieval fair, interesting readings, an extravagant fashion show and shopping at the Gothic Fashion Town (clothing and accessory fair). Additionally, guests may delve into a wide range of different foods that far surpass the usual festival fair. In addition to fried classics, the food court offers savoury and sweet dishes from all over the world. And most importantly, the festival is a black celebration full of high-class music shows thanks to various, national and international acts of the scene who will grace the two stages, the main stage and the club stage.
Since 2000, the M’era Luna Festival at the airfield Hildesheim-Drispenstedt is the meeting spot of the black scene from all over Europe. The festival celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and is one of the most popular festivals for those who roam around the darker side of the music spectrum. On 9th and 10th August, M’era Luna 2025 will open its gates once again to the airfield in Hildesheim, Germany. Every year well over 40 bands make sure that the 25,000 guests experience an unforgettable weekend. Of course, music from genres such as Goth Rock, Symphonic Metal, Electro, Medieval Rock or Metal are in the focal point - but most guests conceive the always sold-out festival as more of a family meeting.
This year’s line-up presents well known, popular and unique headliners. You can find the so far line-up below. The fixed running order will be announced in time. The quite familiar atmosphere, all the visitors in their special attire and make-up, and all attractions being in close walking distance at the great location at the local airport Drispenstedt in Hildesheim (nearby Hannover), and the top music acts and DJs of the scene - all this makes the M’era Luna a very special event in August that you definitely don’t want to miss.
