Texas - “30th Anniversary of Southside” Tour
For over 30 years, TEXAS have proved themselves to be one of Scotland’s best ever bands and nothing short of a national treasure south of the border. A new album, the follow up to their acclaimed 2017 release ‘Jump On Board,’ was released in May 2021 and is called ‘Hi’.
‘Hi’ was originally intended to be based on “lost” outtakes from the recording sessions of their 1997 chart-topping ‘White on Blonde’ album, but this was eventually shelved and ultimately led the band to create new material. To coincide with the release, the band wanted to embark on a new tour but the pandemic situation didn't allow it. So now finally TEXAS is performing at the Rockhal on Sunday 3rd April 2022. The band will perform the album in its entirety plus all the hits!
TEXAS are a Scottish alternative rock band from Glasgow. They were founded in 1986 by Johnny McElhone (formerly of the bands ALTERED IMAGES and HIPSWAY) and Sharleen Spiteri on lead vocals. TEXAS made their performing debut in March 1988 at the University of Dundee. They took their name from the 1984 Wim Wenders movie Paris, Texas. They have made consistently great music throughout their stellar career having sold over 40 million records, had 13 top ten UK singles, 3 #1 UK albums and 8 top ten UK albums including their latest ‘Jump On Board’.
