Arch Enemy - “The European Siege Tour” 2022 - Special Guest: Behemoth - Support: Carcass, Unto Others
ARCH ENEMY and BEHEMOTH want to lay siege to Europe: The two metal giants are setting out on a joint headlining tour that will take them to Saarbrücken in the Saarlandhalle on 24 October 2022.
As we all know, rules are made to be broken. For example, that death metal and the biggest metal stages in the world are dominated by men. ARCH ENEMY are the antithesis of that: Anyone who has experienced singer Alissa White-Gluz and bandleader Michael Amott & Co. together on stage can confirm this. For years, the band has been touring tirelessly, filling halls and convincing as festival headliners from China to Costa Rica. Which is why the current forced break is anything but easy for ARCH ENEMY. “While we’re going through these difficult and challenging times right now, we all need something to look forward to - a reason to keep hope alive, right?” asks Michael Amott with a view to the upcoming tour.
This reason has the pleasant title “The European Siege” - the siege of Europe, which ARCH ENEMY will not be tackling alone, but together with BEHEMOTH. And they know a thing or two about breaking the rules: With their last two albums ‘The Satanist’ (2014) and ‘I Loved You At Your Darkest’ (2018), the band around controversial frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski proved that black metal can venture into the mainstream without losing any of its explosive power and explosiveness. These are epic bombasts, drawn by a sacred weight of meaning and a deeply blasphemous nature, which in their drama are made for the big stages, for imposing pyro shows and open mouths. And BEHEMOTH are also pushing their way back onto the stage: “After more than a year without live music, we can’t imagine a better return to our beloved legions than with the performance of new music and an event for eternity,” Nergal is already sharpening his devil’s hooves.
The support acts are none other than the English death metal rollers CARCASS and the Americans from UNTO OTHERS. So look forward to an evening full of metal.
