Asymmetry Festival 4.0
Asymmetry Festival is an annual festivity, for the fans of the alternative music scene, organized by the Firlej club in Wroclaw since 2009. The aim of the event is presenting unique artists from the verge of rock, metal, electronics, rap and jazz, as well as artists experimenting within their own stylistic, exceeding the genre boundaries. Asymmetry provokes, enforces the search and a wider view of the musical output. The festival is directed towards the international audience - fans of music with an eclectic, but particular taste.
LOCATION: BOURGEOIS BREWERY
The fourth edition of the Asymmetry Festival will take place in a unique space - the construction complex of a closed brewery. Browar Mieszczański [Bourgeois Brewery] is a XIX century establishment, characterized by a unique industrial architecture, and is an alternative location, on the map of Wroclaw, since many years.
THE LINE-UP/SLEEP TO HEADLINER ASYMMETRY FESTIVAL 4.0
The American stoner rock legend, the band Sleep, is touring Europe for the first time and announces its performance during the long May weekend in Wroclaw’s Browar Mieszczański [Bourgeois Brewery]. Thus the line-up of the fourth edition of the festival is closed. The Organizer – the Firlej club would like to invite you to get acquainted with the detailed programme of performances on the particular stages and ways of purchasing the tickets.
SLEEP are regarded as pioneers and, at the same time, the most important representatives of stoner rock. Up do this day, whole throngs of bands performing this particular sub-genre of heavy guitar music draw from them. The band was founded in 1990 and already at the beginning have received favourable opinions from critics and fans, who were seduced by their characteristic, slow tempos and hypnotizing atmosphere. However, numerous arguments with the release label led to band’s split-up eight years later. They have returned, in 2009, to the delight of fans and have immediately reclaimed their place among the leading acts of the genre. Black Sabbath and Saint Vitus influences are clearly audible in their output. They most frequently touch upon the topics taken from the Bible and marijuana in their lyrics. Thus Sleep joins the earlier announced stars of the festival: Killing Joke, Bohren & Der Club Of Gore, Amenra and Red Fang.
