The Area4 Festival has come a long way from being initially a 1-day event in Oberhausen to one of Germany’s biggest rock festivals. 2011’s edition again saw more than 20,000 attendees travelling from near and far to Borkenberge airfield in Lüdinghausen to celebrate three days of rock music and good weather. Well, most times good weather but the little rain shower last 
year was an exception in a tradition of sunny festivals. Last year’s Area4 introduced a second stage on long-time demand of many festival fans, so there was even more acts to enjoy at the festival which apparently made it even harder to decide for you. In the following you’ll get a little breakdown of what’s to come this year:
First of all that would be German BEATSTEAKS who’ll be sure to make all people in front of the stage sweat to the rock tunes, or SOCIAL DISTORTION bringing together Blues, Country and Rockabilly. Not for the first time, THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM are guests at Area4. The band just finished works on the upcoming album ‘Handwritten’ and probably will present some songs out off it. With SPORTFREUNDE STILLER, another star of German Rock scene is confirmed. Also DONOTS are already present at former Area4 editions and are ready to rock the field again with their enthralling show. Should already be more than enough reason to take a few days off for the festival, don’t you think?

Tickets
There are still tickets available for the early birds special price of 104 EUR, including Fees and a 10 EUR garbage deposit online at www.area4.de or by phone: +49(0)1805-853653. 3-Days Festival tickets bought in pre-sale also include one-time free travelling to and from the festival with short-range transit within the scope of Münsterland rate incl Unna as well as the VRR. From Dülmen station to the festival grounds there’ll be a free shuttle service available like in previous years. A ticket for caravans costs additional 25 EUR.
