DO YOU REMEMBER 1: Leaether Strip, Vomito Negro & Blitzmaschine

Matrix Bochum is presenting a great package presenting old and new EBM bands alltigether, bringing the oldschool spirit back to life. As headliner, you’ll get Danish most prominent EBM act LEÆTHER STRIP, the project of Claus Larsen, who started making music in the early 1980s and using the moniker LEÆTHER STRIP since 1988. LEÆTHER STRIP was one of the earliest and most prominent acts on Germany's now defunct Zoth Ommog record label on which he released his first album ‘The Pleasure of Penetration’ in 1990 with another full-length, entitled ‘Science for the Satanic Citizen’ following that same year. In the year 2000 the EP 'Carry Me' marked the end of an era, and Larsen stopped releasing music entirely. The title of the LEÆTHER STRIP comeback album in 2005, 'After the Devastation', indicates that Larsen went through dark times in his private life. Now signed to Alfa Matrix, Belgium famous electro label, Larsen is releasing album after album and since 2009 Larsen is even playing live again - something he refrained from for more than 15 years!

As second band in the line-up we get Belgium EBM dinosaurs VOMITO NEGRO. Started in 1983, VOMITO NEGRO built themselves a legendary reputation in the years to come, coinciding with a great following. The band name is Latin for ‘Black Vomit’ which is a phenomenon that arises in the last stage of the disease yellow fever, when the patient throws up his putrefied intestines and ultimately dies. Of you take a deeper look into their discography starting with the very first self-titled release back in 1985 and rolling forward to discs such as ‘Dare & More’ (1987) or ‘Schock’ (1989) you can hear their music always was in a constant state of flux, never sticking to any particular formula or following one scheme. Following a dormancy period after the album ‘Fireball’, it was decided to bring the beast that was VOMITO NEGRO back to life. This would eventually result in a new album called ‘Skull& Bones’ released in January 2010. Almost exactly one year later, in January of 2011, a new EP was released with ‘Slave Nation’.

And last but not least, German BLITZMASCHINE are completing the line-up. After the successful debut album ‘Faustrecht’ last year, BLITZMASCHINE are now back with an EP for a Single price. Besides the newly composed single version of ‘Useless Pain’, where also a high-class video was produced, the EP contains a club mix filling any dance floor. Surprising are also the remixes coming i.e. from North American youngsters HARDWIRE or from British Synth-Pop heroes MESH. Furthermore, you’ll find a new song, ‘Gotcha!’, on the EP, being a foretaste for the upcoming full-time release. Surely, they’ll present new stuff also in Bochum.
