This September, the alternative metal heads of DEFTONES will hit the stage again at 013 in TiIburg. Many people know this band from the nineties with albums such as ‘Adrenaline’, ‘Around the Fur’ and ‘White Pony’, or their track on the first ‘The Matrix’ movie soundtrack titled ‘My Own Summer’.
The last couple of years they’ve convincingly proven to be still at the top of the scene. Their latest releases ‘Diamond Eyes’(2009) and ‘Koi No Yokan’(2012) are brutal, but also comprise numerous nuances and layers that characterize DEFTONES music. This April, the band was struck by the news that bass player Chi Cheng, who was in a coma after a car accident in 2008, had died. With this development, a long and difficult period for the band comes to an end. Despite this tragic event, DEFTONES has a busy schedule ahead this summer with several festivals and club shows. The gig at 013 will be the first opportunity in The Netherlands to see the band play their latest album ‘Koi No Yokan’ in a live setting, don’t miss out!
