It's the eighth year that the great festival, that Hörnerfest has become, is running and what a line up they have this year. From June 28th to 29th, a fabulous little farm in the hamlet of Brande-Hörnerkirchen, just 35 kilometres from Hamburg, plays home to one of the best kept festival secrets in the whole of Germany. I refer of course to the legendary Hörnerfest!
It costs just €38 for a very cool 2-day leather ticket and includes camping and parking. Alongside the line-up ( more of that in a minute) you have access to the Medieval Market where artisans of all persuasions sell their wares as well as fire shows, side shows and entertainment of all types.

This is a festival not to be missed under any circumstances. Now in its 8th year, the festival organisers have balanced it just about perfectly, keeping with their original ethos of creating a family friendly medieval inspired festival which people just can't wait to come back to.
