stevenwilson2016When STEVEN WILSON released his latest album ‘Hand.Cannot.Erase’, critics have posted countless enthusiastic reviews. They cheered nothing less than the return of progressive rock. However, three things have been embezzled: Firstly, the multi-instrumentalist has been creating fantastic music for many years now and his fans know that already. Secondly, only because one prog rocker makes a great record that doesn't mean that there's a comeback of a whole genre, but rather an exemplary counterpart to a record on sale, such as PINK FLOYS's last piece. And thirdly, WILSON himself wonders whether his concept album ‘Hand.Cannot.Erase’ should be pinned down to that genre.

After all, the founder, singer, guitarist, and songwriter of PORCUPINE TREE and half a dozen other bands and projects is working with all kinds of sounds and styles as a composer, arranger, lyricist, producer, remixer, restorer, and label owner. He himself doesn't care anyway since he only distinguishes between boring and exciting music. ‘Hand.Cannot.Erase’ most certainly belongs to the second category.

WILSON was inspired by the documentary ‘Dreams Of A Life’ which deals with a woman who's been lying dead in her apartment for almost three years. Let this be understood, not an old, lonely lady, but a young, popular, attractive one with family, friends, and ex-lovers who nevertheless wasn't reported missing by anyone. In March and April, the Briton was here and charmed the audience despite this sad and cumbersome subject-matter. Now WILSON has confirmed to come back for the second part of his tour coming January.
