Over the course of her more than 30 years of music career, the Industrial Machinery has produced immense volumes of sound. Founded in 1981, MINISTRY was to be the lifelong passion of front man and founder Al Jourgensen. The band quickly developed their mission statements, for which it is still notorious today: Jourgensen’s wild dreads, the pitch-black clothing, vampire glasses and the exquisite cylinder have long been iconic for MINISTRY. But like any creature cursed with the gift of creativity, “Uncle Al” has changed his appearance several times over the decades.
Nevertheless, the development of MINISTRY and Al’s other projects has always been full of passion and zeal, which is a big reason why he was able to thrill such masses of fans. Often referred to as one of the founders of Industrials, the sound of MINISTRY has never been limited to just one genre. SURGICAL METH MACHINE, REVOLTING COCKS, and everything that Al “Fucking” Jourgensen produces, explores all areas of sound and all corners of the human mind.
