Eccentric Dutch singer Sharon Kovacs returns to the Greece capital with songs from her second album, ‘Cheap Smell’, to indulge her fans. KOVACS started her career in 2014 with the EP ‘My Love’ in collaboration with producer Oscar Holleman (WITHIN TEMPTATION, MEGADETH, HELLOWEEN), released her first album in 2015 and since that time she was unstoppable. KOVACS’ debut, ‘Shades Of Black’, was a phenomenon.
Album and singles like ‘My Love’ became international success: in the Netherlands it took place 1, in Germany 8th place and went in 36 countries into the charts. It gave KOVACS 60 million YouTube views, a model contract with Viva Paris and the European Border Breakers Award. In addition, there were prominent spots at festivals such as Glastonbury, Sziget, Pinkpop, Lowlands, Deichbrand, Traumzeit, Gurten and Rock Werchter, Rock am Ring as well as several sold-out shows in Europe, including a support gig for ROBBIE WILLIAMS.
‘Cheap Smell’, the second KOVACS album, pays tribute to her past. Her school band bore this name and was the last project that led her in artistic responsibility. The album is accordingly inspired by her own life. The album is a medicine, a medicine for a tortured soul. The songs are a series of soul confessions about wild love, abuse of romantic interweaving, hedonism and dependencies. Due to her versatile voice and brilliant ability to combine different music styles and deliver very emotional and energetic performance, KOVACS gathers intellectual and demanding audience. There will be two shows in Athens, one on 7th and one on 8th December 2019.
