Molchat Doma - “Storm Over Europe Tour part II” 2020
With the rise and reincarnation of Post Punk and New Wave in the latest years also the variety of the origin of the artists has increased which brings a lot of exciting new influences into the music landscape also here. With MOLCHAT DOMA a band from Belarus, the capital Minsk, founded in 2017, is on the rise and conquering the underground culture all over Europe. As being from a small Russian town close to the Belarus border myself their music and lyrics transfer an immense amount of the feeling that comes up when I think of the life and society in that region after the Soviet break-up in the early 90ies.
The Russian lyrics being performed in the deep monotone voice of Egor Shkutko are standing out. Their second LP ‘Etazhi’ (which means ‘Floors’) was released in 2018 via Detriti Records and after selling out the first four pressings is currently available in the 5th pressing. The video to the title song has reached the 1 million views mark on YouTube. On the second part of the ‘Storm Over Europe Tour’ that will last for over a month and starts end of January MOLCHAT DOMA are visiting countries like Denmark, Poland, Norway, Germany, Hungary, Romania, UK, France and more.
