There is no need to say many more explanatory words about the New York quartet PRO-PAIN. Since their groundbreaking debut album ‘Foul Taste Of Freedom’, which was nominated for various awards in the early 1990s, the band around singer / bassist Gary Meskil has earned the affection and respect of countless fans all over the world and is now rightly considered a true hardcore metal band. Legend.
All of their albums are a paragon of intensity, uncompromising, inspiration and honesty. With their 15th studio disc, ‘Voice Of Rebellion’, the band returns to their typical strengths. The album was recorded by Corey Williams at Sound Lounge Recordings in Venice, Florida. Meskil wrote all the music and all the lyrics at his home in Sarasota, Florida. Meskil & Co. have always been the complete opposite of so-called Everybody’s Darlings. Since their 1992 debut album ‘Foul Taste Of Freedom’, the no less harsh ‘The Truth Hurts’ (1994) and the international breakthrough ‘Contents Under Pressure’ (1996), with which the band made it to headlining the unforgettable Dynamo Open Air in Eindhoven, Netherlands, PRO-PAIN have been looking again and again for the open confrontation with the fed up officials. Boss Gary Meskil is an idealist, musically and politically, who also has other brutal releases such as ‘PRO-PAIN’ (1998), ‘Act Of God’ (1999), ‘Round 6’ (2000), ‘Fistful Of Hate’ (2004), ‘Absolute Power’ (2010), ‘Straight To The Dome’ (2012) or ‘The Final Revolution’ (2013) hasn’t deviated one bit from his ruthless attitude.
