Alison Moyet - “KEY - Live 2025”
ALISON MOYET celebrates 40 years as a solo artist with new album ‘Key’ and world tour! In 2025, she will embark on a highly anticipated world tour - her first headlining tour since 2017. Alongside four concerts in Germany, dates in the UK, Ireland, and Europe have been announced, with shows in the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to follow. Moyet shares: “Live work really matters to me. I can’t dial in a performance. I love the physical feeling that singing gives me. It’s totally primal and euphoric. On stage I remember how to connect with myself.” The “Key - Live 2025” tour will bring Moyet to Hamburg (April 3, Große Freiheit 36), Cologne (April 11, Carlswerk Victoria), Frankfurt (April 13, Batschkapp), and Berlin (April 14, Huxleys Neue Welt).
It has been 40 years since ALISON MOYET left YAZOO to embark on a solo career with her #1 debut album ‘Alf’ and its Top 10 hits ‘Love Resurrection’ and ‘All Cried Out’. That unmistakable voice - vast enough to fill a stadium yet intimate enough to make you feel she’s singing just for you - has taken her on quite the journey. Career highlights include two #1 albums, six Top 10 singles, two BRIT Awards, and a Grammy nomination.
After graduating from Brighton University in 2023 with a first-class degree in Fine Art Printmaking BA (Hons), ALISON MOYET has combined art and music to mark her 40th anniversary as a solo artist. She designed the album cover for ‘Key’, released on October 4 - a collection of 16 reimagined singles, fan favourites, and deep cuts, alongside two brand-new songs. Together, they form a stunning showcase of her artistic creativity and songwriting depth. To kick off the album, she presents the reworked classic ‘All Cried Out’ and one of the new tracks, ‘Such Small Ale’.
Alison explains: “I wanted to take the opportunity to look at the trajectory of the past four decades and explore songs that, in their original form, were never fully realized or have had their relevance to me altered by time.”
All the songs on ‘Key’ have been reinterpreted with her producer, arranger, and musical director Sean McGhee. Some remain closer to the originals - tracks like ‘All Cried Out’ and ‘Love Resurrection’ are refreshed rather than reinvented, with their 80s motifs replaced by timeless production. Others are cast in a new light, such as McGhee’s exquisite arrangements for ‘Filigree’, co-written with Guy Sigsworth, and ‘Is This Love?’ which now shines as a soaring, shimmering epic ballad.
This album has given Alison the chance to revisit some of the songwriting highlights of her career, including ‘Can’t Say It Like I Mean It’ and ‘This House’. Key encapsulates 40 years of music-making, offering a cohesive overview of a long and illustrious journey. Moyet concludes: “I hope this collection will be the key to those unopened doors. Let yourself in.”
