2013, an inconspicuous basement in Michigan: Five friends record their first original songs. Ten years later, I PREVAIL stand on the world’s largest stages and have long since become an international phenomenon. Their breakthrough came virtually overnight: With a Metal cover of TAYLOR SWIFT’s ‘Blank Space’, I PREVAIL conquered YouTube in 2014.
And they followed up immediately: first with the debut EP ‘Heart vs. Mind’, then in 2016 with their first album, Lifelines. Its uncompromising mix of high-energy metalcore, powerful melodies, and raw lyrics won over fans and critics alike - the album achieved gold status in the USA and Canada.
In 2019, ‘Trauma followed’, on which the band expanded their sound with electronic and hip-hop elements. This bold mixture earned them Grammy nominations for “Best Rock Album” and “Best Metal Performance” - a milestone in their young career. Three years later, they took it a step further with ‘True Power’: with heavy riffs, anthemic melodies, and modern trap and pop influences, they once again conquered the international charts.
With the newly released ‘Violent Nature’ (2025), a new era now begins for I PREVAIL - heavier, darker, and more uncompromising. Following the departure of co-vocalist Brian Burkheiser, Eric Vanlerberghe took over all vocal parts for the first time, ranging from clean singing to untamed screams. At his side are Steve Menoian and Dylan Bowman on guitars, Gabe Helguera on drums, and Jon Eberhard on bass. Together, they have created a work that floats effortlessly between unbridled energy and emotional depth.
