When the debut album of Konstantin Gropper aka GET WELL SOON called ‘Rest Now Weary Head You Will Get Well Soon’ was released in 2008 it was like the young multi-instrumentalist and classically trained musician had woven a spell into his music. From every corner there was praise for what’s gotten the label “Orchestral Pop”, but it’s more than that. These are great emotions only classical instruments can transport that directly, mixed with the fluffy elements of pop and etched in certain sobriety.
You could say it raised high waves. Come 2010, the second album ‘Vexations’ hit store shelves and in certain matters could even top its predecessor and was supported by a couple of very special concerts afterwards. Perhaps not that big, but equally memorable those upcoming shows will be, two of which are taking place at Forum Bielefeld on 9th December and at Düsseldorf’s Zakk on 11th December. Don’t wait too long. Ticket stocks won’t last forever.
