Elbow

ELBOW is a British rock band from Manchester. The band was founded by singer and guitarist Guy Garvey and guitarist Mark Potter in 1990 under the name SOFT. Their first album ‘Asleep in the back’ appeared in 2001, they made their breakthrough with their 2008 album ‘The seldom seen kid’. As a result they played as support for bands like U2, Coldplay and R.E.M.

In 2009 they received a BRIT Award as “best British group” and an Ivor Novello Award for “best contemporary song” and “best song musically and lyrically”. In April 2011, their fifth album ‘Build a Rock Boys!’ was released which reached place 2 of the UK charts. From 7th November 2011, ELBOW are on tour and come to Germany for four concerts. On 8th November 2011, we can experience them in the Tonhalle in Munich.
