Dark, painful, melodic – such is the music from the latest album of ICON & THE BLACK ROSES 'Thorns'. It is said to sound similar to LINKIN PARK, HIM and EVANESCENCE and it is almost guaranteed that listeners of the three mentioned bands will like ICON & THE BLACK ROSES as well. Their sound comprises different musical genres which, however, sound quite well in combination. It is the dark rock sound with metal and gothic elements, thriving guitar rhythms and a strong and energetic voice that characterizes the music of ICON & THE BLACK ROSES. Love, death, grief and emotional dependency create a quite depressive and melancholic atmosphere, and the epic and majestic harmonies give the music an almost solemn but yet sublime feel. Despite its genre mix the music can count as mainstream and is definitely radio-compliant.
Conclusion: To be recommended for lovers of cold, dark but yet powerful music.
