GAMA BOMB from Northern Ireland - assembled on July the 5th in 2002 - is a band with three strict, self-imposed rules : no clean guitars, no ballads, and no synths allowed. This thrash band is together for 14 years and has released five records so far, the lyrics often borrow from pop culture nods and knowing humour. GAMA BOMB’s sound is really cool in an old school kind of way, it really is speed metal at its finest as vocalist Philly Byrrne sings about ‘Witching Mania’ or as the band uses gang shouts in the song ‘Ninja Untouchables / Untouchable Glory’ another highlight is ‘Avenge Me!’ which really reminds me a lot of ANTHRAX.
Conclusion: This band is up to a special kind of furious heavy metal madness, beware!
