Up next from The Sign Records: Gothenburg power-trio ÅSKVÄDER are excited to release their debut album through The Sign Records this March. The tricky-to-write band name translates to “thunderstorm”. This THE HELLACOPTERS and TURBONEGRO influenced Rock band delivers thunder and lightning through bluesy licks and elaborate vocal harmonies for a nice and warm sound. This fine silvery thing was mixed by guitar demi-god Robert Perhsson. The band was able to capture a truly catchy vibe. Their drummer Jon Solheim is also their lead vocalist and he does a nice job even though his voice reminds me sometimes of GHOST’s Tobias Forge in its soft tone. Guitarist Martin Olsson knows how to remind of bands like THE HELLACOPTERS and ROBERT PEHRSSON’S HUMBUCKER sound-wise and bass-man Staffan Persson pulls the threads in the background (at least sound wise).

Conclusion: If you can dig the before mentioned bands and it does not trouble you that the vocalist sounds quite young and not like the typical rock and roll roughneck you might find something special in this hard rock trio, I did.
