Album Review
DR. LIVING DEAD, formed in Sweden in 2007, is a band turning itself around a totem or mascot character of Dr. Living Dead, with members cloaking themselves by masks and pseudonyms of the doc and in the process belting out thrash with a whiff of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, and/or D.R.I. to stick a label of crossover to it. ‘Crush The Sublime Gods’ is the third album to their name and with a different vocalist. ‘Final Broadcast’ ushers one with sound bites that could very well have been missed out for the less clichéd start. For the rest, thrash and punk sit comfortably by each side, safely chugging you to the end of the album with a nice stop at tenth song ‘Salvation’, an instrumental dreamy interlude. It’s a good album to let steam out to, solid musicianship but it’s not something that will stick out in memory for a remarkable amount of time; that is to say don’t expect originality or excellence, just a good solid album.
