Simultaneously with the digital re-release of the HAUJOBB debut album as ‘Homes & Gardens 2.0’, the title track of the album was made available on a digital single as well. But it wouldn’t be fair to just put the same, if re-mastered, track alone. So the single, four tracks in total, starting with the so called ‘Sleeping Room Mix’ of the track, originally released on the ‘We Came to Dance Vol. II’ compilation in 1993. It’s showing audible changes in regards to the used drum sounds and also the melodic elements come across much clearer while Daniel Myer’s vocals are processed with a different effect making them sound as if droning out.
I was already curious how a re-recorded version of the track might sound like. No I’ve got the answer and I really did it for it really contains the spirit of the original track which is something that in my opinion only the band that has actually created the original can achieve. The track is not merely a complex matter but a club-compatible one at that and that this mesh works was proven by its entry into Germany’s Alternative Chart. Many, and that included me as well, have ever heard of the track ‘Manifestation’ thus far. Actually, a shame after hearing it in its entire duration of almost 9 minutes in which it’s evolving and growing, adding multiple layers while some others disappear; and most importantly has really dense and strong atmospheres. The single pack is completed with ‘Homes & Gardens (Optimized V1.2)’ that again differs in many nuances from the original most of all that everything sounds much clearer and fresher
Everyone who decides to give the ‘Homes & Gardens MCD’ a chance gets a neat 4-pak of tracks to add to their collection with improved sound and far away from typical, formulaic stuff as it is released en masse these days. If you rather prefer a physical copy, the single is available in combination with the re-mastered album through the Dependent Website (http://www.dependent.de/haujobb.php). But it’s limited, so if you want a copy, hurry up!
