Album Review

SEPTIC FLESH are one of the most well-known Greek metal bands. ‘Mystic Places of Dawn’ is their first full-length album released back in 1994 from the French label Holy Records. The album was sold out so the band decided to re-release it with re-mastered sound and new artwork plus the 4 tracks from their mini album ‘Temple of the Lost Race’ which is very, very hard to find. About the music on the album the main genre is death metal with melodic keys, violin, cello, doom elements and a few black metal points. Each song has a different tempo something which makes the album even more interesting. The final track of the album titled ‘Mythos (Part 1: Elegy – Part 2: Time Unbounded)’ is a 9 minutes dark atmospheric symphonic track completely different from all the others in the album which shows the wide musical horizons the band had from the beginning of their musical career, something which seemed even more on their following albums. If you are a SEPTIC FLESH fan and you couldn't find this album here is your chance to get it. If you are a fan of quality death metal here is one more album for your collection.
