Bon Jovi
This was the day I had hoped to join and thanks to my friend Shirley I was able to. The fact was that Bon Jovi was about to give 3 special concerts across the whole world to promote their upcoming album ‘Have a nice day’: one in Tokyo for Asia, one in New York for America and one in Amsterdam for Europe. You can image that it was a big struggle to get tickets for the show in Amsterdam, knowing that the entire continent of Europe wants to go there!

Seize, Seabound, Client, Clan of Xymox
The successful festival series was going into another round and presented four delicacies for Electro-Pop and Wave fans. With Clan of Xymox the festival presented a Wave-legend on stage. The band of former Ronny Moorings had a mixed set in package containing newer songs and new arranged classics. Their actual Best-of compilation was occupying the top positing in the German Alternative Charts for several weeks. Client did not only gain attention with their highly acclaimed show in the same venue some weeks ago. The Electro-Pop of Kate and Sarah reminds of the big paragons like Human League or New Order. Their hit “Rock and Roll Machine” is program. Seabound belong to the upcoming bands of the Electro-Pop genre. Songs like “Hooked” or “Poisonous friends” belong to real club hits. The press attests them to be part of to the “German Electronic Intelligence”. During this year’s Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Seize were one of the real surprises. With their mixture of melodic Electro-Pop and harsh Break-beats they were the perfect opener for the evening. www.pluswelt.de

Zeche, Bochum, Germany
19th August 2005
The Fair Sex, Skinny Puppy
Sometimes legends tend to come back. In the year 2000, Skinny Puppy did with an unexpected single performance at the Doomsday festival in Dresden, Germany. In 2004 the legend came back once more, this time with a new album called “The Greater Wrong of the Right”, and an extensive North American tour and six shows in Europe. This year another tour through North America and Eurpe – with a lot more European dates this time – followed. After Skinny Puppy´s fabulous gig at the M´era Luna festival we also took the chance to see one of their club shows at the Zeche in Bochum. This is a nice opportunity to not only to review this particular show but also to rehash the history of this influential band.

Neck, Paradise Lost, In Extremo, Epica, Mostly Autumn, Nemesea, Xystus, Concubine
On a wonderful sunny day the main day of Huntenpop had arrived again. 5 tents were set up in the fields near Varsselder. Stands with drinks, food and many cd’s, t-shirts, jewellery and whatever band merchandise you would like to purchase and clean toilets were all there. Even free sunglasses were handed out to the first 1000 visitors, and you could do a good deed by signing up for Project Aware or see a play from Amnesty International.

Graspop Metal Meeting – 10th edition
25th June -Saterday day 2
The second day of the festival was a killer in both ways: the line-up was better, but it started much too early. Broken from the day before with the long queue, the 24hours tent where many people made a nice party (when they didn’t lost their energy during Kreator) or the hot tent what maded that you couldn’t stand it after 9 am. Enough reasons to be tired, but there was no time for that. There was enough to do.
