Nightwish, Paradise Lost
The Hammersmith Apollo: many respectful artists played in this venue. Motorhead celebrated their 30th anniversary some weeks ago and Iron Maiden played in the old theatre for 5000 people too. Now it is time for Nightwish and Paradise Lost to play here. For Nightwish it's an historical moment. Not only because of the beautiful venue, but also because there was a metal plate with a star on the dressing room; all elements to create a special feeling.
When the airplane arrives at London Gatwick there is no rain. This is good for all those people who were waiting in front of the venue since the beginning of the day. It is strange to see that the members of Nightwish are so popular here. When they arrive at the venue for the sound check people are screaming their lungs out. When the doors open kids run down to the front. A beautiful theatre with the red carpet, white pillars, and balcony give a baroque feeling. This time there’s no opera, but a power metal concert.

Kaizers Orchestra and Geoff Berner
It was one of those days you have this shitty feeling, it's Monday, the week just started and the next weekend seems further than ever. In time like this you need a really good band to make you happy again and forget all about the office, your boss and that smelly colleague. Tonight the Norwegian Kaisers Orchestra has the honour to turn misery into happiness and a full Tivoli is ready to experience it.

When the leaves are falling down the first indoor festivals are starting. One of those is the Progpower festival. A well-known name, also outside Europe, and this tour hits the Netherlands as well. This weekend people from all over the world come to Baarlo. There are people from Italy, Austria and even Poland. The small venue has a good atmosphere for all those people and bands, whose members afterwards make a little chat with the people present.

After Forever
Outside of the venue you can see they are not even finished with all the building and constructing but they are heading in the right direction though. While waiting in line for the guest list tickets our high heals sunk away in the sand but in the meantime we could admire the bat cave like office in which these tickets were distributed. The alarm system was not working as it should for while we were waiting there it went off three times. When entering the venue you have to climb a beautifully red carpeted staircase to reach the wardrobe. After this you enter a hall with bathrooms (which were out of paper half way through the evening) and the stairs to the main hall. If you have ever been in the old Effenaar you’ll be surprised to see how big it is now. Everyone is though off, for there is even a wheelchair lift to get up the platform, where you have a better view of the stage. All in all this seems to be a great make over and a new pop temple has risen. The venue has not even been opened officially but tonight After Forever could present their new album there.
