Children of Bodom & Ectomorph
Children of Bodom, now that takes me back. Back to the days of special shows showing metal and hard rock videos on tv, where you could discover new bands you would instantly love. Such was also the case with Children Of Bodom. It was fast, it was heavy, and it contained a lot of technical tricks and licks. Who could not love that. Though I’m not a big fan anymore, I was excited to see them again. The band which caused the “melodic death metal” genre.

Deep Purple & SQY Rocking Team
A mixed crowd of men in their forties who still dressed like the good old hard rock fans they used to be or those who had changed over time into ordinary people. Dads brought their sons to the Heineken Music hall to go see the music which influenced their younger days. A great crowd had filled up the sold out venue with the fanatic fans in the front and the quiet music lovers nicely placed in seats at the back. Waiting in anticipation the audience had to live through the support act to see what they came for: Deep Purple.

Kamelot, Xystus
Kamelot are back on the road. After a successful tour in December and some summer festivals later six months went by quickly. With this small tour they are preparing themselves for the DVD recording in Oslo. For the second time they will enter the stage in Zoetermeer, not to promote an album, but to show that they are still happy with their fan base here in Europe.

When people from the Zaandam area decide it's time to have some more gothic at de Kade their bodly start organizing a series of evenings with live acts and a couple of DJs to get a real party going. Tonight they gathered quite a few nice bands but unfortunately less than 20km away the legendary Bauhaus were doing their only gig in the Netherlands. The venue didn't quite fill well at the beginning but as the night progressed it got more crowded.

Today people are not just visiting a normal festival, no this festival is organised to collect money for research against cancer. That made the day special and emotional, also for the bands.
