W-Festival 2021 Day 3 with Goudi, Kosheen, Kissing The Pink, Meuris & Co, D:uel, Queen Symphonic, Rusty Egan presents: Visage 1980-2021, OMD
If you monitored the weather forecast on your phone you were sure that the third day of W-Festival would be a rather unpleasant one: lots of rain and strong wind was predicted. But the Belgium weather is full of surprises, and so we had a rather sunny day at the beach with only little rain.

W-Festival 2021 Day 2 with The Blow Monkeys, Matt Bianco, Millionaire, Buscemi Vs Praga Khan, Ronan Keating, Midge Ure, Novastar, Paul Young, The Human League
Bright sunshine, blue sky - the second day of the Belgium W-Festival started in the best possible way. Music wise with a real Pop- and soul-classic: THE BLOW MONKEYS from Britain told the audience that ‘It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way’ and pathed the way for the UK Pop phenomenon MATT BIANCO. Their groovy ‘Half a Minute’ made the audience dance with their drinks in their hands.

W-Festival 2021 Day 1 with East 17, Toploader, Katrina (from Katrina and the Waves), Daan, Marc Almond, Roachford, Gipsy Kings (by Diego Baliardo), The Orchestra (starring former members of Electric Light Orchestra), Nena
You can already see the huge stage from far away: W-Festival moved this year to Klein Strand in Oostende, Belgium and promised four days of 80s and 90s music to the audience. Many cancellations and replacements were announced due to travel-restrictions and tour-cancellations before the festival even started and so it was a bit like a miracle that the doors opened right on time for the first day of W-Festival on Thursday. No facemasks - no social distancing: showing your Corona passport and you are good to go and allowed to party.

Imagine - you are standing in the middle of a huge crowd, no distance between people, smiling faces everywhere. You close your eyes, feel the warmth of the sun, wind playing with your hair, sand under your feet and suddenly you hear those familiar tunes: SUICIDE COMMANDO is entering the stage with ‘Cause of Death - Suicide’. People are screaming, shouting, trying to reach out to the stage. They dance, jump, sing, smile at each other and enjoy themselves. A dream? No!
