On October 20th, Anneke van Giersbergen’s new progressive metal band VUUR released their much-anticipated debut album, ‘In This Moment We Are Free – Cities’. The album entered the Dutch Album Top 100 at number 2, Van Giersbergen’s highest-ever chart position. After touring in Europe as main support to EPICA, the band added a string of headlining tour dates for February 2018 afterwards, starting with a few shows in UK. Just back on the mainland, VUUR continued the tour at the Rockpalast in Bochum, supported by VOTUM from Poland.

As first band on that evening, DUNKELSUCHT from Switzerland entered the stage. The project exists since 2016. With their successful mix of EBM, Industrial, Gothic and Synth Pop they will quickly build their own fan base. The response to the band was very positive that evening. Second band of the evening was VERSUS. The formation from Dresden exists already since 2001. At the Beatpol, the band had a concert in their own hometown and expressed their joy.

Already after their album ‘Rituals’, ROTTING CHRIST got a lot of positive feedback and they decided to go on another extended European tour. Some of the concerts were quickly sold out. And one thing is for sure, the band will again get a lot support from their fans. ROTTING CHRIST are a great live band and they were able to prove this again at the Alte Spinnerei Glauchau. The first band of the evening on stage was METAPRISM from the UK. Actually, the concert was supposed to start at 20:00, but METAPRISM were already on stage half an hour earlier. Due to the early beginning, unfortunately most people were not in the venue in time. But still, METAPRISM delivered an absolutely convincing concert. Go and Check them out on YouTube. They play Melodic Metal and the performance on stage is very powerful.

Deb DeMure and his eternal companion Mona D again penetrated from their ethereal world into ours to endow the listener with their beautiful music. The talented guy Andrew Clinco (and his androgyny alter-ego, Deb DeMure) successfully and not-pattern mixes Post-Punk, Shoegaze, New Wave, Dark Wave and Gothic in his music, not forgetting also about the spectacular external filing and the confused lyrics.
