With the artists confirmed so far like ZAZ, ELBOW, MICHAEL KIWANUKA, TINA DICO, MAXIMO PARK, XAVIER RUDD, KATE NASH, FABER, and many more, A Summer’s Tale, that takes place for the fifth time from 1 to 4 August 2019 in Luhmühlen, Lower Saxonia, already provides an atmospheric outlook for the upcoming open air summer. With 34 new names, the organizer, FKP Scorpio, tops the program variety. Besides the majority of performing artists - further names are added within the next weeks - finally, the performance days are fixed and the advance sale of one-day and two-day tickets starts. With the Britpop pioneers SUEDE, A Summer’s Tale completes this year’s headliner line-up. For the first time, the aspiring and enormously versatile Irish singer-songwriter DERMOT KENNEDY, the American songwriter JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN and the German post-punk trio DIE NERVEN from Stuttgart take part. Further, the folk soul duo WHITNEY, the Canadian country musician CAT CLYDE, the indie-pop newcomer JERRY WILLIAMS, the Swedish indie-folk interpreter MEADOWS and the German singer-songwriter MATZE ROSSI are part of the fifth A Summer’s Tale festival.
11 FREUNDE LIVE brings the most beautiful Bundesliga oddness on stage, with Poetry Slam, four wordsmiths fight a duel and the improvising theatre duo ZWEI AUF’M BAGGER turns the audience’s secrets into short plays. This year, the HAMBURGER KNEIPENCHOR enters the stage for the first time and sings a complete show for you. The British author John Niven presents his bittersweet novel ‘Kill ‘em all’. Many of you may know Giulia Becker from the team of Neo Magazin Royal. During the A Summer’s Tale, she will represent her debut novel ‘Das Leben ist eins der Härtesten’.
With ‘A Global Mess’, the Tale’s Café takes you to punk in Southeast Asia, and ‘Digital Arbeiten im Grünen’ offers a co-working project in the centre of the Brandenburg province, while Mischa Gohlke gives a deeper insight into the world of making music with hearing impairment. Nature lovers should not miss the speeches ‘Kaffee mit Käuzchen’ about living in the middle of the forest and ‘Nix als Klettern im Kopf’. For the young A Summer’s Tale visitors, D!E GÄNG comes to the heath to represent Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae sounds with child-oriented lyrics. The kids can let off steam by join in the Family Yoga, children’s dance and all what the Zwergstadt and the ZEIT LEO festival tent have to offer. New workshops are Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, the popular Handstand Workshop, Acro Yoga, Thai Massage Workshop, and for all fans of dancing, there is Swing, Northern Soul and Electro Swing.

On Friday, August 2, the visitors look forward to the concerts of SUEDE, TINA DICO, MAXIMO PARK, DERMOT KENNEDY, WINGENFELDER, JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN, TRIXIE WHITLEY, and JERRY WILLIAMS. ZAZ, XAVIER RUDD, FABER, LEE FIELDS & THE EXPRESSIONS, SHANTEL & BUCOVINA ORKESTAR, MINE, DIE GOLDENEN ZITRONEN, and CLICKCLICKDECKER enter the stage on Saturday, August 3. On Sunday, August 4, ELBOW, MICHAEL KIWANUKA, KATE NASH, THE CHARLATANS, DIE HÖCHSTE EISENBAHN, MOGLI, STEINER & MADLAINA, RAYLAND BAXTER, and CAT CLYDE provide thrilling concert moments. For some time past, the advance sale for A Summer’s Tale 2019 is ongoing with combined tickets for the entire festival period. With the play days for every single band now in place, all the other ticket types are available by now. Music tickets (for the stage events starting with the early evening on Friday, Saturday or Sunday) are available for EUR 49.00. Day tickets for Friday, Saturday or Sunday are available for EUR 69.00. Two-day tickets for Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday can be ordered for EUR 99.00. Combined tickets starting with EUR 134.00 (ticket for all four festival days without camping). Students and pupils get a reduced admission ticket. Visitors who bought a ticket that includes comfort camping, but don’t want to arrive with their own tent, can book an optional comfort package and enjoy a well-feathered nest.
