Huntress + Battlecross
American heavy metal band HUNTRESS has hit the stage at venue 013 several times before and each time with great success. As support of DRAGONFORCE and LAMB OF GOD, the band showed the Dutch audience what they’re made of. The band's style has been characterized as classic heavy metal with influences of thrash and doom metal inspired by MERCIFUL FATE and KING DIAMOND. The songs feature frequent screaming by eccentric lead singer Janus who has a vocal range of four octaves. After ‘Spell Eater’ (2012) and ‘Starbound Beast’ (2013) HUNTRESS took their inspiration back into the studio for another album, of which the result can be heard this evening.

The 19th edition of Graspop Metal Meeting takes place from 27th to 29th June in Dessel, Belgium. Over the years an impressive list of bands have played at this famous metal festival. The event was not originally a heavy metal festival; rather, it was conceived as a local family festival. In 1995, the headliners billed were JOE COCKER and SIMPLE MINDS.

Eric Clapton fans are buzzing with excitement over the release of his critically acclaimed 1985 comeback album 'Behind The Sun' on limited numbered edition Hybrid SACD on Marshall Blonstein's Audio Fidelity! The musical climate had changed dramatically from the days Eric Clapton had topped the charts in the '70s. 'Behind The Sun' is not his first album of the decade, but he obviously understood it was time to modernize his sound. Iceland Airwaves has announced more artists slated to perform at Iceland Airwaves, taking place in Reykjavík November 5-9. Tickets are on sale now. The War on Drugs (US), who will be closing the festival on Nov 9 with Flaming Lips. On June 13, 2014 Swedish Industrial Rockers DEATHSTARS will release their upcoming album 'The Perfect Cult' via Nuclear Blast. Now the band has published the first album trailer, in which they reveal background information on the production of their highly anticipated new creation. The trailer is available at the Nuclear Blast YouTube channel. 'The Perfect Cult' has been captured in several studios: drums, guitars and bass were recorded in Bohus Sound Recording, Kungälv Sweden, vocals in Gig Studios in Stockholm, Sweden and keyboards, orchestration and editing was done in Black Syndicate, Stockholm. While the mix as usual was handled by legendary Stefan Glaumann (RAMMSTEIN, WITHIN TEMPTATION), guitarist/ keyboardist Nightmare took care of the production from bottom to top.
