NENA is back on tour. In the 80s, she was the figurehead of the Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave). With her easy-going manner, her smile and her German lyrics, she made her mark on the youth of the time. Unfortunately, the IN EXTREMO Castle Tour shows on July 19th in Görlitz and July 20th in Magdeburg have to be postponed due to illness. The new dates are September 13th in Görlitz and September 14th in Magdeburg. The band writes to their fans: “We have some sad news, as the concerts scheduled for this weekend on July 19th in Görlitz and July 20th in Magdeburg will unfortunately not be taking place. Our Micha is ill and feeling so unwell that we are unable to give it our all this weekend. Health comes first! BUT: Our team has already been working hard today and has secured replacement dates. We will reschedule the concerts for September 13, 2024 in Görlitz and September 14, 2024 in Magdeburg. The tickets remain valid.”

In the 60s and 70s, Reggae, which originated in Jamaica, developed into the much faster Ska. In the 80s Ska had a revival and became faster. This also led to the development of a fashion style and a real youth movement. Alongside bands such as THE SPECIALS and BAD MANNERS, MADNESS were also figureheads. With the typical beat and the typical Ska instruments, piano, saxophone and trumpets, MADNESS had a number of chart successes.
