Danish melodic death-metal band MERCENARY parts ways with vocalist Mikkel Sandager (picture), drummer Mike and keyboard player Morten. Jakob (guitarist) states on the website: "Changes've been under way for a long time can sometimes come about in the blink of an eye. Last week, Mike told us that he wanted to leave the band permanently. The rest of us did some serious thinking and soul-searching, sat down and had ‘the big talk’ and came to the agreement that the only way to continue the band was to part ways with Mikkel and Morten as well. During the last year we have been working on a new album and it has become clear that we no longer share the same vision and enthusiasm about the direction and the future of the band. Martin, Rene, Mike and I wanted to play faster, heavier and more modern (yet old school) material, but for the band as a whole this evidently didn't work out." When the time has come to do the last preparations for Christmas, and the anticipation starts getting to unbearable due to the gifts that might be placed under the tree, the time has come for the yearly BIM Fest in Belgium. Like in the years before, also the 8th issue comes up with a diversified program and top acts to look forward to. The initial headlining slots were actually given to LAIBACH and JUNO REACTOR, who unfortunately can’t make it to the festival. But don’t you worry as adequate replacements have been found. This year’s BIM Fest will be headlined by EBM legend Claus Larsen aka LEAETHER STRIP who already celebrated a triumphant live comeback e.g. in Germany at Amphi festival and surely will drive the crowd in Belgium nuts.
