Stratovarius
STRATOVARIUS is a Power Metal band hailing from Finland. The band name derives from a fusion of the Latinized last name of violin crafter Antonio Stradivari and the famous E-Guitar model Stratocoaster. It’s a symbol for the combination of classical music with Metal you can find in many songs of this band. The band formed in 1984 and released their first demo recording 3 years later.

DIORAMA nearly finished their new album with the working title ‘Cubed’. Release is planned for March 2010. A foretaste of the album will be given with an earlier Single release.

German radio station 1 Live awarded the band last week in Bochum with the award for “Best Newcomer”. Deliriously happy, the 5 musicians took the awards and put several contestants in their places. “Bloodred Fullmoon” the 2006 demo from Greek Black Metallers PROFANE PRAYER has been released by Misantrof, the label founded and headed by CARPATHIAN FOREST’s Daniel Vrangsin, through its Music Archives, the division of the “anti” label that was set up to house and release a historical music collection of rare, deleted, or difficult to find items, and includes material from bands such as DEATHCULT, ORCUSTUS, NIDINGR and AMOK, amongst others.
