In their fourth year as a band THE TING TINGS had their commercial breakthrough in 2008 with a #1 single ‘That’s Not My Name’ and album ‘We Started Nothing’. Katie White and Jules De Martini not only ruled the British charts but also the headlines of music press. The popularity with fans and music critics showed up eventually in the ‘Award Season’. Amongst others THE TING TINGS for one or several MTV, Q-, NME, and Brit Awards; a sensational success for the duo from Manchester, having joined its forces after frustrating experiences with the music business as expressed counter draft to smooth British pop.
