The Misfits & Juicehead
American Punk band THE MISFITS can be counted as the founder of so-called Horror-Punk and had huge influences onto bands like NOFX or PENNYWISE i.e. but also in the Metal scene. The name was taken from a movie with the same name. The foundation of the band dates already back to 1977 when they also recorded their first single ‘Cough / Cool’ being released on their own label.
When front man Danzig started a new band – SAMHAIN – in 1983, it remained silent around THE MISFITS for many years. Finally, the band was back in 1995, without singer Danzig. The new era began. A new album named ‘American Psycho’ finally was out in 1997, nearly 15 years after the last regular studio album. During the following years, the line-up was not constant, albums were released and shows playing with a different band setting. With Jerry Only as only remaining original member, the band released a new album in October 2011, ‘Twilight of the Dead’, and is now touring again. On 22nd February, the band will play in Bochum and you’ll have the chance to find out if the new MISFITS are as good as the old ones… As support, American Punk band JUICEHEAD will accompany them.
