Lamb Of God - European Tour 2019

LAMB OF GOD have existed for almost three decades and have been among the most important US representatives of progressive heavy metal since the turn of the millennium. This summer they are visiting Germany between June 19th and July 1st for three concerts in Cologne, Bochum and Frankfurt.

Unlike many of their colleagues, the quintet from Richmond / Virginia can’t be pinned down to any special style. Rather, the creative development of powerful rock music is at the centre of their work. More than two million records sold in the USA alone, four Grammy nominations in the category ‘Best Metal Performance’, numerous top positions in the annual best lists of the trade press as well as the Billboard chart entry into the Top 3 of her last three studio albums so far ‘Wrath’ (2009), ‘Resolution’ (2012) and ‘VII: Sturm und Drang’ (2015) speak for themselves.

Guitarist Mark Morton, bassist John Campbell and drummer Chris Adler met at the University of Virginia in 1990 and founded the band BURN THE PRIEST. Already their pure instrumental style at that time varied between the subgenres Death, Thrash and Heavy Metal. The first years they spent almost daily in the rehearsal room to sharpen their qualities as instrumentalists and songwriters. In 1994 singer and shouter Randy Blythe joined the band, which in turn resulted in a stylistic opening. Until the end of the 90’s the band traded under the old name, with which they were always infuriated because of the religious reference. Therefore, shortly after the release of their debut album ‘Burn The Priest’ and the recording of the fifth member, guitarist Willie Adler, the band was renamed LAMB OF GOD. Since then they have become an indispensable part of the American metal scene.

Around the 20th anniversary of their debut album ‘Burn The Priest’, LAMB OF GOD released the album ‘Legion: XX’ as BURN THE PRIEST at the end of last year. The album contains cover versions of bands that have always had a strong influence on the musicians. For years there has been no stopping the success of the formation, which consciously repositions itself between the numerous metal genres. Also responsible for this are their intensive concerts. The routine of almost 30 years of stage experience together with the pronounced need for innovation and further development make every LAMB OF GOD show an event to behold. This of course also applies to the upcoming shows this summer in Cologne (19.06.), Bochum (24.06.) and Frankfurt (01.07.), where they will perform some cover songs from their current album ‘Legion: XX’ in addition to their own songs.
