If you open your ears in Hamburg on the Jungfernstieg, in Berlin at the Kulturforum or in Stuttgart in the Skatepark Ostfildern, you will always hear ‘Lords of the Boards’ roaring from the speakers in addition to newer music. Even if the piece is actually dedicated to snowboarding and was released in 1997: The track by the GUANO APES has remained an anthem to this day for everyone who moves spectacularly on boards over the ground and through the air. Three number one albums and a number of international tours have taken their toll and led to a break of several years in the noughties. But GUANO APES are much more relaxed, a bit more Pop and above all have come back with the old power. Most recently they were on a very successful European tour for the 20th anniversary of their debut in 2017, now it’s finally going on again: After the summer festivals, GUANO APES are going on an extensive tour through Germany and Europe in autumn.
