When their emerged in the early 1980s, they quickly built a reputation with their then-scandalous acts while playing a live show. Most prominently Blackie Lawless is remembered for such things as throwing raw meat into an audience. Following the release of their debut EP ‘Animal (F**k Like a Beast)’, they signed to Capitol Records for the release of their debut LP ‘L.O.V.E. Machine’ which became an overwhelming success and their audience would continue to expand within the following years.
However that wouldn’t continue forever and a downfall began that led to the band’s break-up eventually. Yet that was not the end since Lawless wasn’t willing to give it all up and he eventually reformed W.A.S.P. with an altered line-up to bring back old glories. Since they have released a plethora of rocking records! On 25th October they’ll bring their unbridled energy to Essigfabrik in Cologne with a program not made to be forgotten.
