SINNER’S DAY drew a lot of attention as a newcomer in the festival landscape upon 2009. The recipe of setting up a line-up of cult figures and acclaimed artists from the widespread genre of punk and new wave amongst others created a fascination that not many people could resist and which made last year’s edition more than a success.
The organizers found themselves acknowledged by the favourable feedback and preparations for the next incarnation of the festival started soon afterwards. Being followers of the maxim “Never change a running system” they once again assembled a line-up that elsewhere probably won’t be found for years in such a concentration and class. Taking a closer look at the line-up, we get such names as THE ORB, pioneers of the ambient house and known for their ambitious soundscape abilities, or the cult New Wave outfit ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN having reformed in 1996 and released a record with ‘The Fountain’ last year.
Other illustrious names amidst the line-up brought together would be a venture into Punk with NINA HAGEN BAND, a trip back to the past with the Synth Pop gurus of HEAVEN 17, MARC ALMOND and so much more that it’s hard to choose who to mention. All this is going down at Ethias Arena located in the Belgian Hasselt which has just much more to offer than the convenient venue alone. So don’t miss out on this unique experience and travel over to Belgium for a day well-spent with lots of good music.
