Following their inception back in 1990 it took more than 6 years for Finnish AMORPHIS to get their breakthrough with their third album by the name of ‘Elegy’ making it into the Top 10 of the Finnish charts followed by a long-lasting tour like on their previous releases, adding to expanding their audiences even more. Over the years and until the present day, the band has managed to gain the status of one of Finland’s most successful Metal bands with an album count of nine albums in total.
The latest one on that list is called ‘Skyforger’ and was put out in 2009 already. The lyrics are based on translations of poems out of Finnish Kalevala like the ones off the previous album. At the end of November, AMORPHIS will bring their mystically tinged Metal to the Zeche in Bochum with ORPHANED LAND and GHOST BRIGADE catering for the warm-up of the crowd.
