Festival of Darkness 2011: Combichrist, Diorama, Frozen Plasma, Mortiis, Blitzmaschine, Lahannya
In early 2010 with the debut of the Festival of Darkness going down at Meier Music Hall in Braunschweig, the foundation stone for a successful event had been laid with positive reviews from everywhere. For its second year goes the motto: Bigger and better. For the 2011 issue, the festival’s been expanded to cover 2 days with all in all 12 bands and something for every taste.
On Friday, the festival will be headlined by COMBICHRIST for one of a very small list of concerts in Germany for 2011, and you can be sure it’s going to be one hell of a party.
DIORAMA, whose album ‘Cubed’ came like a bombshell in 2010, will make an appearance as well. Be prepared for one expressive performance and the first line show in Braunschweig. FROZEN PLASMA are being confirmed as well, and will be spreading melodic electronics in the building. MORTIIS are tour support for COMBICHRIST and as such the guys just brought them to the festival to bring you a fair doze of Norwegian Industrial Rock. With BLITZMASCHINE, there will be one band to shake the dance floors with heavy beats and LAHANNYA, having turned some heads as support for ASP, will be another Braunschweig first timer in the line-up
