BLACK STONE CHERRY and their label Mascot Records announce the digital release of an extended edition of the band’s 7th studio album ‘The Human Condition’ for August 27, 2021. The first new recording is a re-recorded version of Tracy Chapman’s classic ‘Give Me One Reason’. The BLACK STONE CHERRY guys document it like this: “Tracy Chapman’s voice and songs are absolutely timeless. We have always been fans of her music, especially ‘Give Me One Reason’. Chris always sounded so great when he sang this song, so we decided to do our version in the studio. We never imagined the positive feedback we got on what we thought was just a fun version of an already great song! We hope y’all dig it!”‘The Human Condition’ was finalized just days before the spring 2020 lockdown, and as events progressed it became apparent that the album the Kentucky band was finalizing contained lyrics that were eerily forward-looking. Drummer John Fred Young said about a year ago: “We were really scared of the unknown during these sessions - it was a scary time. Every song on this album tells a story of the experiences we all go through - our happiness, ours Fights and how we have to adapt.”
To date, the cumulative streaming of the repertoire contained on the album has exceeded 24 million streams. The single ‘Alone’ alone already accounts for 15 million of these streams.
