The Darkwave band A PROJECTION from Stockholm is known for their powerful and energetic live shows and their sound has been described as “a danceable mixture of dark wave and electronica, with both depth and edge”. Having released three full-length albums, the band has so far stayed rather firmly rooted in the post-punk genre. With their latest singles ‘Darwin’s Eden’ and ‘No Control’, however, A PROJECTION is entering a more electronic realm, placing themselves in the intersection between the synth and post-punk music of the 80s and a more contemporary electronic sound. The new single ‘Careless’ is continuing that path and give a pretty accurate foretaste of the upcoming album, that will be released on Metropolis Records later this year.The ‘Careless’ video was recorded by the young and creative film maker and multi artist Shorkina Valeri from Ukraine. Although the next video, that she is making for us, is currently being shot in the war-torn Ukraine, she decided to film the Careless Video in the surroundings of late spring Stockholm.
The song ‘Careless’ was recorded both during and after Covid, in different studios. Thus, the restlessness, but also the hope, of the latest years is reflected in the song. We got help from many artists during the recording, for instance Henrik Linder from Dirty Loops. ‘Careless’ is released on YouTube (www.youtube.com/c/Aprojection) and on all other platforms. The song will also be on the band’s next full-length album.
