IRON SAVIOR is a German power metal band from Hamburg, formed in 1996 by Piet Sielck, Kai Hansen and Thomen ”The Omen” Stauch (Ex BLIND GUARDIAN). The idea was to blend power metal with a high-concept Sci-Fi story. The band`s sound was often compared to legends like JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN and QUEENSRYCHE, I for one disagree with this comparisons at least voice wise. Okay the sound is epic and uses trademarks of the named bands but Sielck’s voice reminds me very much of Hansi Kürsch. ‘Rise of the Hero’ is IRON SAVIOR`s eighth studio album. The first highlight of the record is ‘Revenge of the bride’ followed by ‘From far Beyond Time’ with a very epic approach reminding me very much of the high times of BLIND GUARDIAN. I only name two highlights here so you have to listen to the entire album to find out if there is more (yes there is).
Conclusion: So if you are a fan of IRON SAVIOR or BLIND GUARDIAN check this out it’s a nice record with some surprises…
